To ensure high quality and profitable operation of the New Energy Operations group by coordinating the personal, performance, training and service needs of an assigned group of drivers. To motivate and retain drivers in accordance with company and department quality, utilization, and profit objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages the fleet productivity using critical performance indicators.
  • Tracks on-time pickup/delivery percentages, out-of-service percentages, miles per month per truck, driver turnover percentages, revenue per truck per week, out-of-route miles, and service failures.
  • Accurately manages ETAs, PTAs and DRIs.
  • Meets load requirements.
  • Assumes ownership for each load from the point of dispatch to the point of delivery.
  • Dispatches complete and accurate load information at all times.
  • Satisfies all border crossing, port loading, nuclear site pick up/deliveries or other unique requirements.
  • Attaches, locates and loads the correct trailers.
  • Manages the personal, training, and service needs of an assigned fleet of drivers.
  • Coordinates drivers' service-related needs to monitor service issues (i.e., permits, service failures, tickets) by proactively minimizing and resolving problems.
  • Manages DOT-regulated issues by coordinating compliance with drug tests, log hours, and other safety-related matters, providing direction and ensuring scheduled completion and/or resolution.
  • Recommends and implements appropriate plans for improvement where necessary.
  • Communicates fleet needs with internal partners.
  • Notifies CSRs and Planners if assistance is necessary to meet customer expectations.
  • Communicates with internal partners when there are changes to a load.
  • Coordinates Y-Splits with Planners.
  • Performs other duties, tasks, or responsibilities as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • 2-3 years of formal training in a related area and/or equivalent experience.
  • Must be bilingual/Spanish speaking
  • Must have good communication skills.
  • Must be able to operate basic office machines including a computer.
  • Microsoft Office product knowledge (Word, Excel).

  • Must be a team player, amenable to a variety of work projects.
  • Must be analytical with the ability to apply data.
  • Must be proficient in responding to internal and external customer situations, responding to customer needs as required.
  • Must be able to both think creatively and provide creative contributions to projects.
